Gardening 2014: Many people may think they do not have
time to grow these garden favorites. Pick yourself a nice variety and if your space is limited then simply plant them in pots, or raised
beds. When you purchase your seeds or plants ask if they grow
well in pots. They may know and they may not. Plant your seed indoors 6 to 8 before
planting time outside. It's a good idea to check the variety of plant to make sure it will grow well for your area. Just because they are sold in your location don't mean they will do well. Stores get in plants that you will recognize by name. Unfortunately they may not be the best for your location. Do some research if your planing a garden.
If you have sandy soil already you will need to add plenty of aged compost, good top soil, and a fertilizer. If you have mostly clay soil you can spend years getting it to grow nice tomatoes. In that case you may consider raised beds and get yourself good top soil mix. These ideas work but it depends on your life style. My thoughts on all this is to just keep adding to your soil and you will have a great harvest.
We have clay soil and have been working for a few years to get a better mix. We added lot's of dried manure this year and our garden did very well.
We have had so much early rain we could hardly get to our garden, and it has totally taken up it's area. Our tomatoes are abundant and we are getting a ton to harvest. Below is a picture of our potatoes that we have gotten 53lbs in total. And they said 30 to 40 lbs. First time trying and received more than expected.

Garden is doing well, hate to show my over whelmed garden but here it is. Not yet first let me show what has come out of this garden.

Needless to say we are having a great year, Need help and your local. Send a message to us. Lots more to come so keep watching. We just can't say enough about gardening. It's amazing to eat what you grow.

We have so many extra vegetables and NO one want's them. They will go into the compost bin for later use in garden.
